All right, friends. You’ve scattered yourselves across this country and others, and with our full support and love. Though our friendships are strong and fulfilling, you realize that we are young and there is more to experience. You’re living life, probably with only pennies to your name, in the Great Wide Open, or the Big City, what-have-you. And that’s great. Really. We want nothing less for you. BUT…
do remember the soul-fortifying experience that can only happen when we gypsies gather together. With that in mind, here are some opportunities for family activities in 2010. I’m giving everyone advance notice because some things might be pricey, but are worth the required savings.
March 17 – 22: South by Southwest Music Fest in Austin
Spokane house is kicking around the idea of road-tripping to Austin for this event. Perhaps we can pick up some people in Wyoming on the way? It’s kind of a long shot, but I’m sure our friends in Austin would be happy to host some of us. Plus it’s a kickass live music opportunity. Who’s in?
May, some time in the middle: Whitworth Graduation Ceremony
Remember how fun graduation weekend was in 2009? Well, it probably won’t be as fun this year (I mean, dance party on a tractor?), but we can try! Kelsey is walking and anyone who can should come to Spokane and show their support. Everyone must graduate, after all.
June 10th, maybe: Mary V returns to the U.S.
As spring turns to glorious summer, our friend Mary returns from Germany and is sure to have awesome stories about zee crazy Germans. I can’t wait. I love German people. and Mary. We should go listen to her stories around a fire somewhere with a couple bottles (or a box) of wine.
August 13: Friday the 13th
This is the only Friday the 13th in 2010. Which means all gypsies need to make reunion their priority. I don’t care where it happens, only that we see each other on this sacred day.
August 30 – September 6: Burning Man
We’ve all been saying we want to go. So let’s go! Tickets go on sale in a couple days. They even have low-income tickets available… something worth looking in to. My good friend Andrew and I have sworn to attend. Maybe Gus can join us for added convenience, but either way this is an event that the Mug Nug shouldn’t miss. Especially while we’re in our prime.
So? Anyone agree with my sentiments? Any takers? Commitments?
Oh! and please feel free to add to this calendar of events.
Loooove you,
Amanda

This blog is like a ghost-town these days, now that most of us are back in the great state of Washington, so here’s a post to keep everyone on their toes.
I would just like to say how proud I am of our Seattle friends for successfully securing great, stable, pay-the-rent jobs during this troubling recession. Showing us all how to get it done in the big, bustling, emerald city. Three cheers! Can’t wait to taste the fruits of your labor.
In Spokane news, Hot Toddy has decided to keep open a guest bedroom for the next few months. So for those of you friends interested in short visits, extended stays, or something more permanent, do consider us.
To conclude, I’m going to cast a spell of good fortune mixed with unexpected autumn mischief upon us all. There. I just did it. You can’t tell cuz you’re not a witch (unless you are).
Love,
Amanda
